West Morgan finished the 2015 season with a disappointing 0-10 record. Last year West Morgan finished eighth in Class 3A region eight with a 0-7 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. No team at West Morgan ever lost more games in a season than the ten they lost last year. The Rebels have not qualified for the playoffs since the 2008 season and would love to end that streak this year. West Morgan was inconsistent offensively last year and that needs to pick up if the Rebels want to be competitive. They only averaged 14.6 points a game. West Morgan struggled on the defensive side of the football last year. The defense found little success in stopping opposing offenses as they gave up an average of 47.5 points a game. The Rebels would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 1-19 record. Since 2010, the West Morgan football program has struggled with a record of 11-49. Over the past 25 seasons, West Morgan has managed to compile a record of 150-123. Their 55.0% winning percentage ranks 24th in Class 3A and 125th in the AHSAA. Their last winning season was 2010. The Rebels are led by head coach John Ritter who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 0-10 record in his first season at West Morgan. The Rebels have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Ritter. Coach Ritter's overall record as a head football coach in three season stands at 16-17 (48.5%). Over the course of his career, Coach Ritter's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times . The West Morgan Rebels will play in Class 3A region eight during the 2016 season. The Rebels enter the 2016 season in the middle of a 10 game losing streak. They would like nothing better than to end the string of losses early in the season. This season, the Rebels will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region eight. After not winning a single game last year, the goal at West Morgan will be to simply win some games. The Rebels would like nothing better than to break their streak of 27 consecutive region losses in 2016. Running back Tyson Teague returns for his sophomore season after rushing for 895 yards and 4 touchdowns as a freshman last year. Quarterback Gabe Peluso returns for his junior season after completing 52 of 109 passes for 694 yards and 6 touchdowns last season. The Rebels open the 2016 season on the road against non-region opponent Priceville on Thursday, August 25 at Bulldog Stadium. Last year the Priceville Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 8-3 and in first place in Class 4A region seven. The Bulldogs lost in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs to Hamilton by a score of 29-28. West Morgan and Priceville have met a total of 12 times on the football field.
